DuoLingo and the rest are great... I mean it... They are! But they don't teach you the everyday Spanish that you will come across by being in Spain and conversing with Spaniards. If you aren't told about these things, they will confuse the hell out of you! Check out some of the vocab and expressions you'd likely hear if a native Spanish speaker were to talk to you in their natural way, as opposed to dumbing things down for you...
