4 days, 5 record stores, 51 records and stories to tell. Much funk!

For the past 2 years, Making Vinyl have held a conference which brings various elements of the Record Industry together. The current state of affairs are reported, ideas are exchanged and business is agreed upon.  My original plan was to just one "Detroit" show. Half the content would focus on my personal takeaways from the Making Vinyl conference while the other half would be focused on the fun stuff: music and records and stories.

In a sincere attempt to begin a discussion on the quality control issues that keep entering many discussions centred around new vinyl pressings, I'd hoped for a healthy exchange of ideas and experiences.
We were shut out. The questions weren't answered, the discussion wasn't had. Much passing of bucks, even more explanations, but not enough constructive dialogue.

There is too much to cover and we wanna do it right, so we're splitting Detroit into 2 separate shows. In part one, I will share my observations from the Making Vinyl conference. My opinion is my own, I stand by it.
