VODKA O'CLOCK

Amber talks to the writer/director and producer of the adorable heartwarming movie, Somebody's Hero.

This week's guest is PAUL ALLOR, comic book writer and editor. Paul has his own self publishing line Gov't Comics which he used to kick off his career with a phenomenal collection of short stories CLOCKWORK, each one illustrated by a different artist team. We get into Paul's history of writing, the rise of independent comics, and the strength of Comics Experience as a community.

Special guest CHUCK WENDIG, author of DOUBLE DEAD, BLACKBIRDS and more.

In today's special episode of VODKA O'CLOCK, you'll hear from the creator and writer of the web comic HOLIDAY WARS, Scott King. The Kickstarter campaign expires May 20, 2012.

Today's episode of VODKA O'CLOCK features comic book and freelance artist THOMAS BOATWRIGHT who you may know from his work on my story SLIM & POSH as well as ZEKE DEADWOOD. If you're a lover of westerns, ghosts, paranormal subjects, and even superheroes, Tom's artwork will have something that appeals to you.

Writer DIRK MANNING joins Vodka o'Clock in episode 1207 to talk about his latest work in TALES OF MR. RHEE, screenwriting news for BlackBoxTV, LOVE STORIES ABOUT DEATH and much more. Because this interview includes some emotional and sensitive subject matter, I found myself sputtering the filler "I mean" quite often as I tried to tread lightly and respectfully. Feel free to make it a drinking game.

INTERVIEW: CREEPY/EERIE film CRY FEAR with Chad Meyer. Jim Warren's comic book legacies CREEPY and EERIE are now part of a film deal with FOUR FEATURES. This film company is working on the first live action film based on the worlds of CREEPY/EERIE.

Amber Love talks to creators Mike Colbert and J.K. Woodward in this week’s podcast. We hit upon more than the Kickstarter campaign. The push to digital marketplaces, finding strong characters that break through stereotypes, drunken karaoke, and planting the seeds for a CRAZY MARY/FALLEN ANGEL crossover. Fans can only hope! Sadly, we talked to Mike while he was on a Hollywood set and there’s some horrible background noise at times. I apologize but it’s only brief.

It took years, but I finally interviewed ANDE PARKS, writer of LONE RANGER, KATO, and GREEN HORNET comics published at Dynamite Comics among other graphic novels at ONI Press. We discussed his work, the upcoming Lone Ranger movie, his obsession with hats and his writing process. Plus, an important challenge is issued to listeners heading to the C2E2!
