Join Hanif Khan & Faheem Nasir for Thursday’s show from 4-6pm where we will be discussing: “United Nations” and “Quranic Manuscripts - Cultural Clues”
United Nations
On United Nations Day, we must ask: does the UN still represent its founding principles of peace and security? Recent failures to stop conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and the ongoing crisis in Gaza, raise concerns about its effectiveness. Has the UN become powerless in the face of global conflicts, or can it still rise to meet its mandate?
Quranic Manuscripts - Cultural Clues
How did the message of Islam spread around the globe? Who penned the first Arabic copies? What about its translation into other languages? These are some of the questions we would like to discuss on our show as we explore the history behind the manuscripts of the Holy Quran that are being exhibited at Cambridge University Library. Join us between 5 and 6 as we go on to consider how they came into the hands of the university and who the original collector, Erpenius, was.
Guests Include:
Professor John Quigley - Translator at the International Arabic-English
Translation & Research Office, Ahmadiyya Jamaat UK. Professor Gerard Wiegers - Expert in international law, human rights, and global conflicts
