  • Pathway to Peace Podcast 20-08-2023 - Hospitality: A moral duty?
    Title: Hospitality: A moral duty?
Synopsis: The Pathway to Peace team is still reflecting on the very successful UK Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Annual Convention held in July 2023. With over 41,000 visitors to this 3-day convention, we have all been re-experiencing the atmosphere of the gathering, by listening to Voice of Islam radio shows and watching repeats of the inspiring addresses on the Muslim Television Ahmadiyya network and YouTube channel.
In this episode of Pathway to Peace, the team are talking about the spirit of hospitality in Islam. Taking care of 41,000 guests is a huge undertaking requiring many volunteers working long hours; as well as hosting guests in homes and transporting them to and from the convention. So where does this spirit of hospitality come from? How do we see hospitality play out on the world stage and how does it affect societal peace?

  • DriveTime Show Podcast 18-08-2023 - “UK Prisons” and “Holy Books – sources of guidance”
Join Raza Ahmed, Qayyum Rashid and Danayal Zia for Friday's show from 4-6pm where we will be discussing: “UK Prisons (need for reform?)” and “Holy Books – sources of guidance”
    UK Prisons (need for reform?)
UK Prisons are once again under scrutiny as living conditions have been deemed to be deteriorating beyond repair. With the government pledging to increase the number of prisons to tackle overcrowding, we ask if this is enough to bring about reform of prisoners, or is time the UK prison system itself is reformed to best serve the needs of society?
Holy Books – sources of guidance
In His infinite Mercy and wisdom Allah Almighty has ensured to guide mankind throughout our history. From the first Prophet Adam to the Promised Messiah of the latter days. Some of these great Prophets were given divine scriptures that led their followers through dark times. The last and most perfect of all was the Holy Qur'an. Revealed over a period of 23 years Muslims believe it to be directly revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) as a guidance for the righteous and a key to all of mankind's problems. However, in todays day and age some people believe these books to be the source of misguidance and evil. We will highlight the beauty of these in this part of the show.
    Guests:
Peter Holloway - Chief Executive of prison fellowship
Eva Hamilton - CEO of Key4Life
Jamal - former offender who has been through the Key4Life programme, now works for an international financial services company in London
