Eric Crosby, the Henry J Heinz Director of the Museum of Art at the Carnegie, discusses with Jim Cunningham The 58th Carnegie International, which will run from September 24th, 2022 through April 2nd, 2023. The exhibit brings together new commissions, existing works, and projects by established and emerging artists working internationally, domestically, and locally.
This edition of the Carnegie International is special and unique in that it is more globally representative than any International before it. Like Eric's vision of the museum itself, Sohrab Mohebbi’s curatorial approach considers artists’ solidarity, artists’ responsiveness to world events, and shows how art can bring people together. The artist list reflects the expansiveness of the curatorial platform they are evolving at Carnegie Museum of Art. In addition to the artist list, the title of the exhibition: “Is it morning for you yet?"
