Pittsburgh Foundation CEO Maxwell King has written the first full biography of Fred Rogers , The Good Neighbor. He talks with Jim Cunningham about the book and the many facets of Fred Rogers philosophy and personality, details about the production of the programs at WQED, the music involved, Joanne Rogers friendship with conductor Christoph von Dohnanyi, the premiere of Amahl and the Night Visitors in 1951 with Fred at NBC as floor manager and much more. The book is available September 4 2018 with a launch party at the Heinz History Center.
