3/10 Todd Skeen speaks with FERN WATERS CHARTER SCHOOL & YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

A grant that came back in 2017 with the Albertsons foundation included the involvement of several organizations in the community and the input of the youth to provide learning and projects based on what the students wanted to learn. 

Fern Waters was selected to  a pathways for youth Career Technical Education opportunities. The school also won a grant that made it possible to bring welding to their jr. high age kids.

3/9/20 SJSHS Superintendent Chris Born speaks with Leo Marshall about the supplemental levy vote on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 8 am to 8 pm. The supplemental levy bridges the gap between State Funding and the cost of current programs and pays for things like teachers, class materials, transportation, technology and extracurricular activities. 

Examples of programs supplemented with the levy include: athletics, drama, technology, music, voc ag ed, educational materials, drama, library, art and yearbook

Thursday 2/27/20 Voice of the Valley host, Todd Skeen, talks with Fred Snook about local sports, including the state wrestling tournament and wrap up of boys basketball. Challis Vikings wrestling coach called in and joined Todd and Fred on the air to discuss the Challis Vikings wrestlers going to the state tournament.

Monday, February 24, Voice of the Valley host, Todd Skeen, speaks with Jim Juza and Bob Perry about the 64th Annual Episcopal Church Pancake Supper fundraiser on Tuesday February 25th from 5-7 pm. They also discuss the many uses of the funds from the fundraiser.

Voice of the Valley host, Todd Skeen, speaks with Johnna Philips and Scott Brand from the Mahoney House about the Strengthening Families class held on Thursday, February 27th, at Steele Memorial Medical Center. Childcare is available.

Todd Skeen interviews Jeremy Back with the Salmon Youth Hockey Association. The Salmon Hockey Rink has been nominated as a Kraft Hockeyville Rink and has a chance to win $150,000 worth of upgrades to the rink.
