Our guest, Gail McPeake spreads awareness that after a psychiatric hospitalization, the risk of suicide is 300 times greater during the first week home, and 200 times greater the first month, according to the National Suicide Action Alliance. She published Home Safe (Amazon) about her son ending his life just 48 hours after hospital discharge in hopes of spreading this message to families and healthcare workers.
