Mikayla Ashe, the founder and head spokeswoman of Fight Like a Girl 305 is featured on our fifth episode of Voices in Miami! Listen to her talk about the event that catalyzed her drive to teach teenage girls the art of self-defense. Her program has been active for 5+ years and has reached hundreds of women nationwide.

David Luis is a student at Florida International University studying Public Administration. He is the founder and former President of Students Feeding Miami, which has been a huge success on combatting food insecurity. To date, Students Feeding Miami has fed over 15,300 people in the area, and they continue to strive in order to help as many others as possible in combatting food insecurity. 

Madeline Ley is a Sophomore at The George Washington University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Health and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.  In 2017, Madeline founded Shrink the Gap to empower women to fight the gender pay gap through salary negotiation and interview workshops, and public advocacy. She is also the Director of Public Affairs for GW Leading Women of Tomorrow. Additionally, she is the SDG 5 Gender Equality Ambassador for Social Impact Movement and a columnist for the Feminism Explained newsletter.

Olivia Martin-Johnson, one of our Co-Hosts and Founders is featured on the second episode of Voices in Miami! Listen to her talk about her advocacy in the name of SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through her non-profit newsletter, Feminism Explained.  Her and her team are focus on producing professional content in the newsletter each month on debunking the myth that feminism is a radical ideology through stories on gender inequality, strides made by women in history, and progress being done today.

Josie Blohm, one of our Co-Hosts and Founders is featured on our very first episode of Voices in Miami! Listen to her talk about her advocacy in the name of SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 13 (Climate Action) with her service project Composting, with Coffee! Her and her team, which include fellow Miami Palmetto Senior High School seniors Adrika Singh and Lily Rodriguez, are bringing more well-rounded SDG-based education to the students at Palmetto Elementary School.
