Voices Of Newark

In the inaugural episode of "Voices of Newark," host Jhamar Youngblood, the future councilman of Newark’s Central Ward, and his dynamic campaign manager, Naomi Ruth Stevens, dive into the concept of reactionary politics. They explore what it means to be proactive versus reactive in the political sphere, drawing from real-life examples like the George Floyd protests and local activism in Newark. The conversation takes a deeper look into topics like social mobility, classism, community organization, and the importance of a unified Newark. They also introduce their new initiative, OurNewark.com, a platform designed to amplify local voices and encourage civic engagement. Tune in for an insightful discussion on how to create lasting change through action, education, and community empowerment. Filmed live at The Rod Studios Network.
