The seventh episode of Open Windows, a show centred around attention and listening. Featuring an hour of original music by Benjamin Harrison, the show encourages listeners to open their windows and allow the music to interact with their local soundscape, becoming a part of their peripheral listening. The aim is to focus on ambient music’s unique position as an art form that actively eschews its listeners attention, circumventing the ubiquitous attention economics that have seemingly seeped into almost every aspect of daily life. The hope is that listeners can use this hour as a time to direct their attention to something that simply benefits themselves and those close to them.
