Back on the airwaves after a little hiatus, George returns with his October edition of The Hump, a free-spirited journey through the more nostalgic corners of the collection. Moving between mellow folk, indie gems and leftfield favourites.

A mix bag of familiar memories, overlooked gems. What’s your Hump this morning?

Two worlds meet on the airwaves this morning as Mass Movement crosses paths with Soul Quest Records, with producer and sound curator Slxm Sol guiding us through rhythm-led selections.

The show unfolds somewhere between the listening room and the dancefloor, moving through jazz, house, soul and highlife with percussion at its core. Warm grooves and soulful house blends, jazzy sensibilities create the foundation, while layered rhythms and expressive vocals integrate through the mix, adding texture, movement and plenty of feeling.

This is the morning in motion 🚶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Ease into the day with Avant-Garde AM w/ @audioproduceraish ! She’ll be playing a mix of highlife, grime, neo-psychedelia, jazz, R&B and chilled house. Expect music from the Late Great Sway, Children of Zeus, Donkeychote, Girls of The Internet and Ezra Collective.

Soft Signals is Mantra’s morning transmission into deep cuts, warm rhythms and the strange little turns that make listening feel alive. The show moves through jazz, soul, dub, downtempo, experimental music, underground hip-hop and whatever else belongs in the room that morning. It may drift, loop, get a little mysterious or wander off the map, but it always circles back to rhythm and spirituality.

The title is a metaphor for easing into the day—the softer frequencies, memories and connections that come through when you give music a little space. Some records are old friends, some are new discoveries, and some simply arrive at the right moment. Mantra talks about them the same way he listens: personally, curiously and without over-explaining. Soft Signals is less about showing off a collection than sharing what still has a pulse to me. I truly enjoy sharing music & its infinite power to bring so much joy.

Wobbly, out of kilter synths dominate the slightly unnervingly summery October air before giving way to killer rhythms and even maximalist grime that sounds straight out of Luckyme’s playbook. Mostly fresh and featuring Hodge, Jacques Greene, BFTT, Kade Young and automatic friend of the show SAM-E.

For this month’s In Situ Show, DJoe is joined by adjstr, an In Situ favourite behind the decks, for an hour of hypnotic dubbed out techno and forward thinking club music. adjstr is a London based, by way of Berlin, techno producer sitting on a treasure chest of groovy dancefloor weapons just waiting to drop.
