This month on Unexpected Joy I’m joined by a very special guest, Duncan Sodala from @timemachinezambia . Time Machine is a record and comic book store operating in Lusaka and I got to stop by on my recent trip to Zambia, and had a lovely chat with Duncan about Zambian music history and the state of the industry today. In this episode we’ll be exploring Zambian music from Zamrock and Kalindula from the 70s and 80s to today’s biggest Zambian artists in afrobeats, hip hop and r&b.

VERTEX is pushing the envelope in high energy, multi genre djing, using his sets to experiment with sounds that wouldn't usually go together and create sonic journeys. No set is ever the same and you'll never know what to expect as the VERTEX sound is bold, percussive and always evolving.
