Atmospheric breaks are a wonderful way to relax. This one stays incredibly upbeat even for that genre, which can be positive or negative depending on how you feel.

Named mostly for the attempt to return to Voyager after a 6 month hiatus, Regeneration is a bread and butter set; not much experimentation this time. Also apparently I didn’t actually attach the recording when setting Voyager back up this time.

While I do enjoy posting my mixes for others, I primarily record sets to gather new tracks together in a cohesive way that I can listen to; Voyager’s “new(ish) tracks” rule is heavily based on my constant need for fresh music. The upshot is that certain mixes stay in personal heavy rotation for a while, and this was one of them. It’s a really good round of breaktrance.

A lot tracks in this set are of the type that make me start grooving without even realizing it. This was also around this period when the time I was spending producing Voyager started cutting into things and dates started slipping. Unfortunate, but I learned a lot from it.

A nice survey set that again unifies some pretty disparate sounds. Track 08 (around 31:34) The Brainkiller – Sumerio is a real standout, it was the seed for this mix.

Fun trivia: My exposure to psybreaks in mid-2012 triggered this new phase of mixing. It was a completely novel sound to me, and it reignited my interest in finally completely converting to digital. The sound is low, growly, and creeping sinister – the music itself feels like a predator watching from the shadows.

Actually – given the characteristics of this mix I can state my conjecture in the last entry is entirely correct. Another survey mix, this is named because the sub-genre transitions felt a bit all over the map even to me. I can’t remember exactly what was going on in my life at the time, but things must have felt nutty.
