A mother was serving food to her son while his wife was not around. The man found the curry to be watery and remarked to his mother that it was not prepared well.  As she replied that it was cooked by his wife, he immediately changed his statement and said that it tasted good though. This happened because his love for the wife prevented him from finding faults with any of her thing. On that line, our love for God too should be so strong that nothing of His creation appears faulty to us. Such a loving state of mind signifies incessant worship of God.

Bhakti cannot be defined by any externalities rather it is reflected through our psychological conditioning. Fearlessness, not finding faults with others, cheerful acceptance of every situation, wishing well for all and an incessant link with God are some of the essential attributes of a bhakta. So we should be regularly examining ourselves to fairly evaluate our position. Being believers of God we all go for pilgrimages, undertake charitable activities and do regular worship. Nevertheless we cannot be genuinely called devotees as long as we lack the spirit of adoring God only for love sake because feeling a sense of belongingness for God marks the beginning of devotion. So a true devotee takes his grueling life as a roller coaster wherein every twist enables him to get closer to Lord.
