Since the beginning of the new year the Waco Police Department has added on a new unit called the Neighborhood Engagement Team (NET). This is a brand new team to help met with neighborhoods in our community to target and fix problems that are needed. As we continue to grow and engage with our community we want to make sure voices are heard as this unit will partner with the neighborhood associations. Sergeant Chet Long is the leader of the team and talks more about what you can expect!

The Victim Services unit relies heavily on its volunteers. These volunteers are those that go out into the community when crisis hits, comforting those who have fallen victim or are experiencing distress and may need some assistance or someone to lean on. Missy Sparks the Victim Services Volunteer Coordinator tells us all about what the job is like and why Waco PD is so thankful for their help!

The Waco Police Department and Prosper Waco have teamed up to create the Waco Connect program which helps employ a Social Worker at the PD. This Social Worker is tasked to help those who have frequent run-ins with law enforcement but just need a little extra help to get them back on their feet. That's where DeAngela comes in, she started at the PD in August and has so far made an impact on many in the community, connecting them to much needed recourses.

Being a 911 Dispatcher is a stressful but rewarding job. The Emergency Communications Manager, Susie Murray, is here to talk about her Dispatch team at Waco PD.
