  • EP24: Was Ebony the female Shatta Wale & is Sarkodie the best rapper in Ghana?

As Afrobeat, hiplife, highlife and just music lovers in general, we can easily forget our favourite artists the moment they aren't there anymore. This is the very thing that most Ghanaian music lovers have done with Ebony Reign. The queen of Ghanaian music passed away about a year ago and it looks like she has been forgotten totally. We the wahaala boys believe that the "sponsor" star was the brightest light in Ghana music and was on par with the likes of Shatta Wale in terms of stage performance and quality of music if not better. A lot of people do believe Sarkodie of Sark nation is the best rapper in Ghana and this the Wahaala Boys could not agree on. Here is Nana's top 5 rappers, Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafour, Okyeame Kwame and Bright from Buk Bak.

  • EP23: Why are fathers allowing stepmoms to maltreat their children?

The wicked stepmother narrative is nothing new to most people and if it is, all you have to do is watch a Nollywood or Ghanaian movie to see what can transpire when children are raised by their stepmothers. One such incident happened in Ghana when a kid had his hand cut with a cutlass by the stepmother. Long story short the kid has lost an arm because the parents didn't treat the wound. This kid lived in the same house with the father and how the father can allow such thing to happen under his watch can't be comprehended but that seems to be the norm. The Wahaala boys take a look at how and why fathers allow their wives to maltreat their children.

  • EP22: Is the idea of a housewife degrading to women?

Chris Vincent chief editor and founder of Ghanacelebrities.com got into a debate with some girls on Facebook about the notion of a house of wife. According to the girls, the idea of a house wife is degrading to women and women should not subscribe to that since it is a man's way of controlling them. The Ghana celebrities editor argues that why would any woman choose to work if their partner is happy to support them financially? He used the analogy of still working the same job after winning a million dollar lottery to back his argument. The Wahaala boys take a shot at the argument and ask, "when did it become insulting to women to be house wives?" Please do not forget to share, comment and subscribe. Also rate the podcast please.

  • EP21: Are Afrobeat Artists disrespected by the likes of BET? Burna Boy VS Coachella

Nigerian Afrobeat artist Burna Boy called the organisers of the music event Coachella in the USA for putting his name in small print compared to other acts such as Childish Gambino and Arriana Grande. The artist deemed the act disrespectful to his brand and Afrobeat as whole. The truth is the likes of BET has always disrespected Afrobeat artists. Fuse ODG accused them of not letting Afrobeat artists perform on stage on the award nights and it is well known that awards were given to winners back stage or in an empty auditorium although that has changed after years of outcry. Listen to what the Wahaala boys think about this and the bigger picture of why these artists allow the disrespect to continue.

  • EP20: Are African girls doing "ANYTHING" for FAME?

Once upon a time the African girl/woman was the epitome of decency but it seems that idea has gone out of the window. Many girls including highly educated ones are more than happy to show their bodies or become video vixens. The ambition of these women are to be popular and are willing to do anything including acting, talking and even sleeping with men to progress their agenda. What is more disturbing is that these girls/women are happy to talk about their indecency on camera. Moesha Budoung was happy to tell CNN news that she sleeps with a married man for her lifestyle and another Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo talks about how she slept with a veteran actor to get her foot in the movie industry. A lot of Kenyan girls are prowling bars looking for rich men to sponsor them and are happy to talk about. There is a whole BBC programme about it called Sugar. Here is the Wahaala Boys views on this latest issues regarding our African sisters.

  • EP19: Will Shatta Wale End his own Reign as the Best Artist in Ghana? II Season 1 Finale

Ghanaian musician and the undisputed king of dancehall Shatta Wale has dominated the music scene in Ghana for the past 3 years but it seems he might throw it all away because of his antics. Although these antics have helped established him firmly in the music scene and made him a god to his fans, his retoric and actions are becoming tiresome. 2018 should have been a great year for him from his signing to Zylofon and releasing the much anticipated and talked about music video Gringo but he will be remembered for the diss track "my advise" by the fastest rapper in Ghana Sarkodie and the beef with Stonebwoy. He is looking more like Tekashi 69 and he might lose everything like him. Here is what the wahaala boys thought of Shatta Wale's year.

  • EP16: Why celebrate Christmas if you are African?
Christmas celebrations is common in most African countries from Ghana and Nigeria in the west to Kenya in the east and Egypt in the north plus South Africa in the south but knowing the history behind the celebration and also who brought it to us as Africans, is it time we stopped celebrating it? Although most christians will admit that Jesus was not born on the 25th of December and that X'mas has pagan roots but still chose to celebrate it and not only that guilt trip others who don't celebrate it. I won't even start on the commercialisation of the holiday. Anyway here is what the Wahaala Boys take on the subject.

The stories you hear from our Cameroonian and Ghanaian sisters who went to Kuwait, Jordan and some other middle eastern countries is just sad. From tales of rape, physical abuse and forced imprisonment, these women suffer a lot on the hands of their employees but are their struggles and experiences very different from the maids back in their countries?
