We turn to listen in on Jesus' personal prayer to his heavenly Father. Over this week and next, we see the heart of our Lord and what he desires most for himself, his Father, and his people.

In the unfolding history of the church from Acts till now, proclamation has always been accompanied by persecution. The promise of the Helper remains crucial, ‘When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

This Sunday, in John 15, Jesus will say to his small band of disciples, ‘I have called your friends’. It is what he calls any one of us, as we come to put our faith in him. And what a friend we have in Jesus! The one who can say, because of his love (John 15.13) - friend, your sins are forgiven. The friend who promises to walk with us through the valley. The friend who can lead us safe, home, to the place he has prepared for us. What friend!

Jesus delivers the Upper Room Discourse, comforting His troubled disciples on the eve of His crucifixion.

I can’t wait to hear Jesus wonderful promise to all who come to him by faith, there is a place for you, with me.

In John 13:1-17, Jesus washes his disciples' feet during the Last Supper. This shocking act of humility demonstrated his radical, selfless love. By taking the role of a lowly servant, Jesus taught his followers that true greatness in his kingdom is found in serving others, not in seeking status.

John 12:44-50 is the final public speech of Jesus in the Gospel of John. It highlights three key themes: unity with the Father, salvation versus judgment, and the divine authority of His words.

The Apostle Paul urges believers to live out their faith by maintaining unity, practicing humility, and using their diverse spiritual gifts. He explains that every Christian is equipped by church leaders to build up the body of Christ, ultimately leading to spiritual maturity and truth-filled love.

Paul defines a divine mystery: God’s plan to unite both Jews and Gentiles into one unified body (the Church). Previously hidden, this was revealed so that all people can be fellow heirs of Christ.

Salvation by grace and the reconciliation of all believers into one unified community.
