Unpopular opinion coming your way about one of the most American and classic dishes our country has. And while there are unacceptable and common acceptable substitutions, there is one thing substitution that is common that changes the dish and can not be called Mac and Cheese. And it all comes down to one thing: the PASTA choice!
No matter how hard you work, sometimes you will not get the recognition you deserve. Just because someone does not give you your flowers, does not me you did not work hard, were not the best, and did not deserve them. But you should consider if it's time to consider taking your talents elsewhere, where you can make an impact and also get the recognition you deserve.
Because of our life experiences and beliefs, we all interpret and perceive things differently. And sharing the feedback of our interpretation or perception can be insightful. But when it is on the negative side, it is now up to the receiving party on how they interpret or perceive the message. And it works both ways. Whatever you dish you have to be able to take. There are consequences to all actions even if the intent is good. That may not be the way other people see it. And you have to be able to deal with the consequences of sharing your or another person's perception. Especially when agendas and personal relationships are involved.
No one likes a person who thinks DOOM is coming all the time. People like to believe in the best of a situation. BUT a red flag is still a red flag. And no matter how optimistic you want to be, there are times when caution needs to be had. In general, you want to assume the good in person but sometimes you must evaluate the situation and history before setting your mind to "assuming the good". Especially when you are trying to convince someone else to ignore precedent, warning signs, or their gut to be cautious or even "assume the bad" in a situation for the sake of simply "assuming the good" Especially when personal relationships, dignity, and reputation are on the line.
"That's the problem with most people. They dream about what they want to do instead of really doing." -Whitney Houston, Fairy Godmother in 1997's Cinderella
Sometimes it can be hard to admit that you need to make some changes to be happy and/or reach your goals. Sometimes you need to examine those goals to see if what you desire is the true goal or if the goal is currently something you think you need to reach or have to get your desire. Sometimes we have to be okay with letting someone else down in order to live our best lives. There are many situations in life where you do not have choices or are limited by the cards you have been dealt. And no matter the cards you have in life, you guarantee there will be divine, earthly, or more commonly fellow humans who will throw obstacles in your way. So yet so many times we are our biggest enemy by getting in our way of achieving what we want or making the changes we need to pivot, reorganize, and self-reflect.
It is time for all of us to be able to say that a Ship has Sailed, time to Go in a Different Direction, and most importantly- GET OUT OF OUR OWN WAY.
Toast for Delta Sigma Pi's 2022 Alumni Day. See below for the powerful toast given by Brother Joe Goldblatt.
Here’s a toast to brothers, now and past
To brothers old and young
And as we become future brothers
Let us have the patience to learn from each other
To see the best in all
We need to speak wisely
And the will to imagine success
We need the freedom to dream
That is what makes our
brotherhood and our friendships survive
Here’s to Deltasig, Cheers Brothers
We are always networking whether it is intentionally or subconsciously. And we never know when our networking will come full circle.

BURPEES! One of the most hated exercises moves among fitness goers. A full-body workout that has us hating life before, during, and after the workout. Honestly, a lot of us would love to "have a word" with the creator of burpees. To him and all the fitness instructors: who hurt you to make you want to hurt ad torture us?
But hear me out... burpees may actually be the best exercise move on the planet!
