After coming off a dramatic win over Florida State in Winston-Salem the week prior, 23rd ranked Wake Forest remained at home on November 2nd, 2019 as the Demon Deacons hosted rival NC State.

This one would be all Wake Forest from the opening kick. The Demon Deacons raced out to an early 21-0 lead after one quarter of play, led by three Jamie Newman touchdowns (2 rush, 1 pass). Wake Forest would cruise into halftime up 32-10 and never looked back. The Demon Deacon defense held the Wolfpack scoreless and forced three NC State turnovers. Meanwhile the offense racked up 418 total yards, with just over 300 of them coming from Newman, as Wake took care of State by the final of 44-10 to improve to 7-1 (3-1) on the season.
