Wake Forest faced off with in-state rival North Carolina for a non-conference showdown on Sept. 13th 2019 in Winston-Salem. The Demon Deacons jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead, but the Tar Heels battled back to within 3, 21-18, with just minutes to play. After a Nick Sciba field goal to make it 24-18 with 1:08 left, the Demon Deacon defense rose to the occasion by stopping the Tar Heels near mid-field as time expired. The win improved Wake Forest to 3-0 on the year in 2019.
