Wake The Farm Up! - Maintaining Ground

In this Episode, we get a look into the life of the farmers markets and local foods in zone10b  Miami, Florida.  Far Out Tropical Fruit Time!!! Jack Fruit! Host Ande the Elf and special guest Art Friedrich discuss life through various trials of diets, convictions and good old music ruckus of Art's homo-erotic psychedelic punk rock band Maul.  Art encourages us to take Pride in ourselves and to never be bullied from being yourself, no matter what shape, form or orientation.  With many serious notes, this episode  dives into some deep issues from our times, and yet maintains the light hearted feel of the show, plenty of good humor for all to enjoy while learning new perspectives and aspects of food.  You never know what is coming next, or where these conversations may go... perhaps a Burlesque show?

In this third kid friendly episode, Ande the Elf interviews the fictitious character Dirk Shack a Lacka.  Dirk is an expert at building shelters and shares natural building techniques in a creative way, starting with the three little pigs.  He speaks very rapidly and firm in the beginning, but as the show closes you can tell Dirk is almost ready for nap time.  This episode is for the sheltered child and the unsheltered ones as well.  Hope you enjoy, and remember, have a good time!

This may be one of the funniest, and perhaps edging into the raunchiest episode ever to appear on this podcast… Heather Holthaus Battles and Ande the Elf jump right into an open and fearless discussion of topics from modern parenting, relationships, and sex toys! Hahaha!  Classic topics of  Maintaining Ground Podcast arise such as pre-internet nostalgic moments, herbalism and homesteading.  After not having a real life conversation in nearly 20 years, these two are absolutely hilarious in this episode. So prepare yourself for some good laughs and a good time.  This episode pairs well with bourbon, a sweet white wine, or a strawberry smoothie. With hints of sherbet, marmalades, blackberries and artichoke dip,  this episode also could enhance your morning jog, a crafting session, or paint scraping job. Enjoy!!!

In this whacky episode, host Ande the Elf, Joro Weaver and her band the New Forest discuss the drama between her and Gusta Doogle as well as the many ways in which the band finds inspiration.  Band members Hildeditch, George Georgio, and Twanka the german speaking drummer all have something to say in this episode.  Stay tuned for more of these episodes as the story unfolds with these characters in this series of well sheltered child friendly episodes that you can listen too and join in the adventures with your own sheltered children.  I am sure the will have numerous questions which you can create answers of your own, or see what happens next, in our every 5th episode!  Enjoy!

Truly this podcast is unfolding its wings as we take flight into more new realms with this creative spirit of the water elements.  Mooncat Daddy and host Ande the Elf explore a light hearted  conversation of nature that evolves through sacred mounds, daddy-hood, okra, aloha vibrations and ultimately the incredible creative sounds of Mooncat's music.  If you think about it, we may have even found out whose been getting the Jon's hopping in the southern cuisine dish of Hoppin' Jons...  We feel the depth of being present with our hearts and flowing as we dance our way from Washington D.C., to Santee Mound, Standing Rock, and much more!  You will enjoy this rich conversation and feel your upper jaw muscles relax as they rest in a stable smile and you just might "Wake the Farm Up!" in a fresh new way.

In our 9th episode, we go international and try green Pandan Bread of Singapore.  We learn so much from our wonderful guest Priscilla Mok, a friend of our Host Ande the Elf, who is actually not vegan!  The discussion between these two is hilarious and  rich with serious wisdom and thought.  You will be smiling the whole time while learning so many things... What Priscilla suggests to do with the Pekin Duck is fascinating.  Her foraging spirit comes to life as she harvests blueberries in the Red River Gorge of Kentucky.  When you hear steamboat you may think of harpooned worms and chipmunks instead of old paddle boats on the Mississippi river. Either way you will wish Priscilla Mok was coming over to make dinner with you!!!  Anything could happen!

Exploring the backwoods of Ohio,  the Mountains of Montana, the earthships of Taos and right into the soul of Nashville Tennessee, Michael Shaw and Host Ande the Elf will have you grinning from ear to ear in this honky tonk of an episode.   Michaels stories are vivid and are inspired from 13 years living as a horseback ranger, hunter and as a musician.  He currently is producing top hit country singles like "Cowboy Boots and a little Country Dress" ,  https://linktr.ee/michaelshaw,
His energy is fire.  Mothers, don't let your children listen to this one, unless you want them to grow up to be cowboys.  Prepare to chuckle and have a good time with this one...

This episode goes into an extended stay hotel and takes on Chicago from a dirt bike, skate boarding mountain man who has crossed paths with Big Foot.  David , aka Snail, and Host Ande the Elf lead us through lots of 90s nostalgia infused into the adventurous comical stories based upon feelings.   We have worked hard to make this recording enjoyable to listen to despite hotel background effects and odd technological issues.  It took time, but like a snail on a motorcycle, this will rip your mind while listening on your next bike ride, walk around the block, or while driving your truck to deliver everyone's goods they are waiting for... Where will you listen in...
