Business owners see tens of thousands of people gather in close proximity for protest rallies with plans to allow crowds to attend NRL matches are unveiled, yet many businesses that have followed Government instructions, in many cases at great personal cost, can’t open their doors due to the ongoing restrictions imposed on them.

Michael is joined by Jacinta Price, Warlpiri woman & Alice Springs Town Councillor, who has slammed Black Lives Matter protesters as ignorant 'narcissists' who don't understand indigenous problems.

 

Ms Price argues that more Aboriginal people die outside of police custody than within it, with the majority of Aboriginal people killed and maimed by other Aboriginal people.

 

But because the violence is out of sight, out of mind, protesters don't care, she says.

Michael is joined by Warren Hogan, Former ANZ Chief Economist & industry professor at UTS Business School, Executive in Residence, for his view on whether it’s time to urge governments to scrap payroll taxes & stamp duty to help with the economy recovery from the coronavirus crisis.

 

The Morrison government so far has spent around $200 billion in economic stimulus and other measures to cushion the damaging impact of COVID-19.

Michael is joined by Chiang Lim, CEO of the Australian Childcare Alliance New South Wales, regarding the Federal Government’s announcement that it will cease its free childcare scheme on July 12, moving to reintroduce childcare subsidies for parents in a $700 million transition package to be offered to the sector from the following day.

 

 

The free childcare scheme was introduced in April with the aim to support eligible families whose employment had been impacted as a result of COVID-19, with the transitional funding to last until September 27.

Steven Wardill, State Affairs Editor for The Courier-Mail/Sunday Mail, joins Luke Grant regarding a shock new YouGov Poll, conducted exclusively for The Sunday Mail, that has revealed Ms Palaszczuk’s second-term Labor Government has slumped to its worst result in four years and now trails its LNP opponents.

Conducted last week from interviews of more than 1000 Queenslanders, the poll shows Labor’s vote has shrivelled to a lowly 32 per cent with fewer than 150 days left until the October 31 State Election.
