Across Australia, businesses of all shapes and sizes have been adapting to remote working in response to the pandemic. 

New research from technology platform Zoho reveals that 50% of Australia's 2.35 million small businesses intend to make remote work their new ‘normal’ even after COVID-19 restrictions end. 

Luke chats to Peter McCarthy, the founder of a business called myprosperity and they are intending to operate with a largely remote, decentralised workforce permanently. It’s part of what they call the ‘hybrid’ future workplace.

Australia’s economy has taken a hit from the pandemic, GDP has plummeted, and unemployment is set to double.

These are extremely difficult times for all involved.

Luke Grant caught up with Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, to reflect on the year it has been, as well as the upcoming budget and the state of the Australian economy.

The tutoring industry in Australia has taken a huge hit as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 50% of registered students across the country leaving the service.

Despite life slowly returning to normal following the easing of restrictions, some of our largest industries are still suffering.

One of these industries, being our tutoring sector.

Centres have been forced to close for obvious reasons, and on top of this, parents have paused spending during the economic downturn.

Business is down by more than 50%.

But despite this there is optimism the industry will slowly recover, but experts are concerned students sitting exams in the near future, will be the least-tutored cohort in a very long time.

Luke Grant caught up with Mohan Dhall, Chief Executive of the Australia Tutoring Association to see how the industry is currently going.
