Noble Health closed the doors on the hospitals in mid-Missouri's Mexico and Fulton on March 25. Platinum Team Management has announced an agreement to assume control of the two hospitals, and Platinum says they're working to re-open them as soon as possible. Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Dana Keller joined us live on "Wake Up Columbia" this morning. She tells 939 the Eagle that the chamber is hopeful that quality healthcare in Mexico and Audrain County is returning. Ms. Keller describes the hospital closing as devastating and says it's a life-or-death issue to have the hospital there. She is very hopeful:

Columbia Police Department officials and the head of the Columbia Area Career Center (CACC) traveled to Jefferson City on Monday to meet with Governor Parson about recruitment and retention of law enforcement officers. They discussed efforts to improve police recruiting through youth career path training. Police Chief Geoff Jones joined us live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Columbia" to recap the meeting. Chief Jones tells listeners that the meeting went well, adding that no promises were made. He's pleased that CACC director Brandon Russell attended, emphasizing the importance of the CACC. Chief Jones says CPD is currently down 23 officers:
