Walk With God

SHOW NOTES: When a person is chased and hunted like a wild animal with the intent to destroy them, we can almost hear their painful cry to be rescued. Our human response is to take revenge into our own hands. But David turns to the Lord and pleads, “Do not forget me. How long must I wait until You will respond?” This is David’s urgent request for the Lord to be his Mighty Defender. Tonight's Scripture: Psalm 35.

Psalm 26: David’s Lament to God

SHOW NOTES: Struggles and problems come into each of our lives. There are even times when people will taunt us or falsely accuse us. Very quickly we can feel discouraged and we begin to doubt ourselves. We question whether we are truly walking the path God has called us to follow. David is in a tough spot and he turns to God to vindicate him. He humbles himself and asks God to examine his mind and heart. In this lament psalm, David provides a pattern for us to follow when our days are filled with problems and struggles. Tonight's Scripture: Psalm 26.

SHOW NOTES: Every day we are faced with many different choices. What’s for breakfast? What will I wear today? Will I answer all of my emails? But the most important choice before us each day is … will I choose to walk with God today? Some choose to ignore Him. Others plot and plan their rebellion against Him. Yet, the Lord sees and hears all that we do and say. The wise person chooses to worship the Lord and take refuge in Him. Tonight's Scripture: Psalm 2.

Open the Book of Psalms to Chapter One and you will find a beautiful piece of Hebrew wisdom poetry. The blessed man finds favor as he follows the psalmist’s instruction - do not “walk, stand, or sit” with ungodly companions. But rather, delight and meditate on the written Word of God, day and night. You will be like a tree, firmly planted by streams of water and will prosper. The Lord watches over the path of the godly.

SHOW NOTES: In this New Series, we will “Journey Through Psalms.” This wonderful book, found in the center of our Bible, is a very complex piece of literature. Through the centuries, the 150 chapters have ministered to people facing very real, everyday struggles, trials, and suffering. We will look closely at the common theme of worship. And, this journey will draw our hearts, minds, and souls closer to the Lord.
