  • UP FROM THE GRAVE HE AROSE!

That Jesus did not remain in the grave is a testament that good would always prevail over evil. That He revealed Himself to many after He rose is proof that death has no power over the son of God and anyone who trusts Him. Biblical accounts and history confirm that Jesus rose from the grave three days after He was crucified. He remains the only religious leader whose grave is empty to date. His resurrection is the confidence with which the believer in Christ operates.

  • SILENT SATURDAY

Have you ever had to endure the silence of heaven? Have you ever desperately needed a word, and none came? Do you have unanswered questions, that period when you would do anything to know what God thought of an issue? Or the time when all around you is dark, and all you asked was a ray of hope, a flicker of light, a word, a sign, anything but silence.

  • JESUS LOVES THE WOMEN TOO

The women, His mama, Mary, the other Mary, the mother of James and Joses, and Mary Magdalene, were part of the long and dark journey. They were privy to His shame and suffering and eventual death. They had their questions but remained loyal even in the face of hopelessness.

Every one of them had a unique relationship with Him. These women were eternally committed, having been rescued from much. He made so much difference in their lives that committing to Him was their grateful act. But now, they don't even know what to believe. He held so much hope, but recent events cast heavy darkness on their belief.

His deposits in their lives demanded their loyalty, even in death. They loved Him so much they were willing to care for his dead body.

  • COME UP CLOSER

There were seventy; then there were twelve and three and one. How close would you come? Jesus had them at different levels. When he needed the crowd effect, then the seventy came in handy. Then there was the everyday mission, and the twelve was just enough. Finally, He had His three buddies when the need for heart matters arose. With them, He was comfortable with vulnerability. With them, He could bare all His heart's burden. It was them that He begged to pray for Him. It was them that saw Him and a glimpse of His glory. It was them that He went into the garden with.

But He had the one He loved, the child enough to put his head on his chest and man enough to be responsible for caring for Jesus' mother. It was John that went with him all the way to the cross. It was John who stayed close through thick and thin.

It didn't mean that the others were bad or not good enough; it just meant that relationships have levels. How close you are willing to go will determine what secrets you are kept in charge of. What value you place on your relationships will determine what depths you reach.

How loyal are you, or are you willing to be? What kind of friend are you, and what kind of friend do you value?

  • WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM JESUS?

They expect a King who would lead them to war and remove them from under the oppression of Roman rule. He came as the Prince of peace, humble servant, man of sorrows?

What do you expect from Jesus is still a relevant question today

  • RIDING THE LONG ROAD TO DESTINY

After telling this story, Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples. 29 As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. 30 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. 33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on.

36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.

38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the LORD!

Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

39 But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!”

40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”

    Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

41 But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. 43 Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. 44 They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”

    Jesus Clears the Temple

45 Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. 46 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”

47 After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him. 48 But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word he said.

  • TRUTH IS A PERSON

When we understand the depth of love and the extent of the grace that brought us salvation, we will live in gratitude and humble service. We would be eager to bring many into the same knowledge so they can also enjoy the privileges we have as children of God. We would delight in showcasing Jesus in our daily walk, never taking grace for granted and gladly living for truth, the person of Jesus.

The gospel that has been entrusted to us, we are to disseminate to all men, never minding race or creed. As believers in Christ, we must ensure we depopulate hell and bring as many to Christ as possible.
