  • Be His Witness
So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”
He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:6-7
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. 1 John 1:1-4
…Some matters are solely for God to decide. Leave them alone. Keep your focus on your assignment. Be His witness, testify to His greatness and His power. Tell the world what you know of Him.

  • TARRY YE...UNTIL YOU BE ENDUED WITH POWER
Everything in life operates in power. The question is, what kind of power? My dear friend, the power you need to operate in your life is from God almighty. It is for that reason that, Jesus, after He had risen from the dead, told the disciples what to do, where to do it and for how long. He told them what to expect and from whence it would come. He also instructed them on what to do after the spirit had descended on them.
My dear friend, do you have such detailed instructions from the master? Do you know the next step to take? If yes, then you need to attend to the details of the instructions given and if no, the instruction remains; tarry ye… never be in a hurry to do your own thing. The power resides in obeying God’s command to the smallest detail. Receive grace to do as the master desires of you in Jesus name. Amen!

  • Praise Him!
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, you His servants; praise the name of the Lord. Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is exalted over all the nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of His people. He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord. (Psalm 113: 1 – 9)
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100: 1 – 5)

  • Do you want to see God?
LORD , who may enter your Temple? Who may worship on Zion, your sacred hill? Those who obey God in everything and always do what is right, whose words are true and sincere, and who do not slander others. They do no wrong to their friends nor spread rumours about their neighbours. They despise those whom God rejects, but honour those who obey the LORD . They always do what they promise, no matter how much it may cost. They make loans without charging interest and cannot be bribed to testify against the innocent. Whoever does these things will always be secure.
    Psalms 15:1‭-‬5 GNB

  • INFORMATION IS NOT ENOUGH, WAIT FOR POWER
INFORMATION IS NOT ENOUGH, WAIT FOR POWER
Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ You are witnesses of all these things.
“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” Luke 24:44-49
Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:4
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
My dear friend, it is true that you have been around the master, and, you learnt a few things about the kingdom, saw the miracles, and have a proper grip of the scriptures. You know about power and authority, but you must wait for heaven to deploy you. Jesus told His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit, who will fill them with power from heaven so they would be His witnesses.
Our calling as Christians is to be witnesses of His power, the one we saw and handled and must demonstrate to the world around us. But, we must wait for our marching orders. Do yourself a favour; let the Spirit lead you before you face your world.

  • Permit Yourself
Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.
Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.
Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”
The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.” Mathew 28:1-10
When the LORD brought back his exiles to Jerusalem,
    it was like a dream!
    We were filled with laughter,
    and we sang for joy.
    And the other nations said,
“What amazing things the LORD has done for them.”
Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us!
    What joy!
    Restore our fortunes, LORD,
    as streams renew the desert.
    Those who plant in tears
will harvest with shouts of joy.
They weep as they go to plant their seed,
but they sing as they return with the harvest. Psalm 126
Permit yourself to celebrate the life you have now. Your life has indeed been challenging, the journey rough, and you had to suffer long.
But you are on the other side now. There is no need to feel guilty. Certainly no need to apologise for what God has blessed you with, don’t hide or minimise them
Now you are in a good cycle of life; you are on the stage now, tis your turn to dance to heavens beat for you. Dance my dear dance, tis your turn, use it well.
You were not noticed in the dark; let the light showcase GODS GOODNESS in your life. Congratulations, my dear friend, live so your Father in heaven can be proud of you.

  • NAVIGATE THE DARK ALLEY
…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30: 5b
    He bowed the heavens also, and came down;
and darkness was under his feet.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly:
and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
And he made darkness pavilions round about him,
dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. 2 Sam 22:1`0-12
    If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;
even the night shall be light about me.
    Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee;
but the night shineth as the day:
the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
    marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee,
when I was made in secret,
and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
    Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
and in thy book all my members were written,
which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
how great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand:
when I awake, I am still with thee. Psalm 139:11-18

  • THE WALK TO EMMAUS
    The Walk to Emmaus
It has been a very eventful couple of days for the disciples of Jesus, and we would be in order to agree that they were in despair, maybe even confused.
Two of them were making their way to Emmaus and discussing the events of the last few days. Jesus joined them and, seeing their sad disposition, asked what the matter was.
They let Him know their expectations of Jesus of Nazareth, the prophet who performed many miracles was hoped to be the one to rescue them from Roman rule. They told HIM HOW THEIR HOPE WAS DASHED as Jesus was arrested and condemned and crucified. The speculations of His missing body did not help their confusion at all.
Jesus rebuked them and, from Moses, began to them what the scriptures had written concerning Him…
That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. But God kept them from recognizing him.
He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?”
They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.”
    “What things?” Jesus asked.
“The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people. But our leading priests and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him. We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.
“Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report. They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels who told them Jesus is alive! Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, his body was gone, just as the women had said.”
Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them. As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!
They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them, who said, “The Lord has really risen! He appeared to Peter.” Luke 24:13-34

  • HE IS ALIVE!
    HE IS ALIVE!
Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. Then they went home.
    Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in. She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her.
“Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?”
She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.”
    “Mary!” Jesus said.
She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).
“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have seen the Lord!” Then she gave them his message. John 20:1-18

  • WHEN IT ALL BECAME CONFUSING
    The Death of Jesus
At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”
Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. “Wait!” he said. “Let’s see whether Elijah comes to take him down!”
Then Jesus uttered another loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.
When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
Some women were there, watching from a distance, including Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James the younger and of Joseph), and Salome. They had been followers of Jesus and had cared for him while he was in Galilee. Many other women who had come with him to Jerusalem were also there.
    The Burial of Jesus
This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached, Joseph of Arimathea took a risk and went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. (Joseph was an honored member of the high council, and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come.) Pilate couldn’t believe that Jesus was already dead, so he called for the Roman officer and asked if he had died yet. The officer confirmed that Jesus was dead, so Pilate told Joseph he could have the body. Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth. Then he took Jesus’ body down from the cross, wrapped it in the cloth, and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where Jesus’ body was laid. Mark 15:33-47
When it all became dark and confusing
They believed he came to save them and to establish his own kingdom, save them from the tyranny of their time. The events of the last couple of hours were confusing, yes, He prepared them about coming events, but they could not have imagined things would be that bad. He told them about him and heaven being in sync and now Heaven had turned its back? The saviour is dead! Their leader is no more and darkness ruled… but that for a brief while, between twelve and three. As the son of man was clocking out, eternal life and light made its appearance, access given to all and now man, can live again! Hallelujah!!!!!
The devil thought he had his way, but out of darkness came the unquenchable light and life that we now enjoy, out of betrayal came the priceless gift of eternal life with God. Out of pain and sorrow and grief came joy unspeakable, full of glory. Out of the death of one, came the life of countless number of humanity.
Darkness gave way to life at the cross. Now the price is paid in full, now you and I can live again!
