May I ask you to think about your life and your deepest 'core values' for just a moment? Of all the things that are important to you, are there some things that you would call 'Non Negotiables'? This means that no matter what happens, you simply cannot compromise on these things!  "Non-negotiables" are things you will not do under any circumstances. You also have some 'non-negotiable' things you will not STOP doing under any circumstances!! May I ask... do you have some 'non-negotiable' beliefs or moral standards or ethics? These are things that even if your life depended on it, you will not change your position on these 'non-negotiables'! So...What are these 'non-negotiables' for you?

Yesterday I left you sitting on Mount Horeb with Moses as he was about to deliver a message to God from the 1 million Hebrew slaves setting up camp down at the base of this rugged mountain. Moses recorded this scene for us in Exodus 19:8,9 "So Moses brought the people's answer back to the LORD. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear Me speaking with you and will put their trust in you." Leadership, in any situation, is complex isn't it? But can you imagine trying to lead 1 million people, traveling across the desert, who have no idea where they are going, and have only the belongings they are carrying on their backs or in their carts!

Good morning my "Walking with Jesus" friends around the world, I wonder if you have a very special, life changing place? Sometimes, in those quiet nights when you can't sleep, do you go to that place in your mind and replay the life changing events that occurred there for you, many years ago? I have several such places. Moses had several, but one in particular... let's go there with him today!

Have you learned the importance of developing new leaders and delegation of responsibility, when trying to manage a very large project? We see it in every segment of society in every country of the world, don't we? Did you know Moses needed to learn this vital lesson? Guess who God used to teach Moses about sharing the load of his huge leadership responsibility?  I left you yesterday in a place called Rephidim, at a new oasis being formed by the miracle of fresh water pouring out of a split in a huge rock in the desert!

Hello my "Walking with Jesus" friends, Have you ever found yourself in a leadership role with complainers or grumblers all around you? What did you do to pacify the grumblers and find solutions to the problems? For Moses, this was a frequent challenge and today let's watch as God provides one of the most memorable solutions at a place called Rephidim. You'll recall yesterday we watched as these 1 million traveling people experienced God's provision of manna and His instructions about how to manage a daily delivery of it.

Do you like the smell and taste of fresh, hot baked bread? Have you ever stood in a commercial bakery surrounded by fresh baking bread or rolls pouring out of those huge ovens by the hundreds? My wife and I once lived near such a bakery and it was a remarkable experience to visit there surrounded by hot, fresh, baked breads and rolls of all kinds, enough to feed the whole town!! I left you this weekend sitting among 1 million hungry people who have just been told God was going to pour out two great miracles for them in less than 24 hours.

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and you find yourselves discussing a common experience of many years ago? How did you feel when their description of that experience seemed so different from what you remembered, even though you had both been in that 'years ago experience' together?  Yesterday we concluded our time at an oasis called Elim in the Sinai desert. We weren't alone there, in fact about 1 million people were there with us at this place of 12 springs and 70 palm trees.

When was the last time you were thirsty... I mean really, really thirsty? The kind of thirsty that your mouth is dry, your tongue is actually a little swollen and no matter how hard you try, you can't work up any saliva in your mouth. Maybe you are even a bit weak or faint? Did you find yourself desperate for water, even just a little bit? Let's join 1 million really thirsty people and see what God did to quench their thirst! In our journey, we are traveling with these 1 million Hebrew slaves who have run through the 'water tunnel' of the Red Sea, and they watched the walls of water collapse on Pharaoh's pursuing chariot army. Finally they are fully rescued from Egyptian slavery with no going back!

 Celebrations are wonderful things, aren't they? Especially when the celebrations include lots of people. God has built into all of us a desire to 'celebrate', but sadly the world we live in these days doesn't provide as many opportunities for celebration as we would like, right?! Well today, join me please in one of the greatest celebrations of all time found in Exodus 15 in the Bible.  Yesterday I left you standing on the shoreline of the Red Sea watching "miracle debris" float ashore with every wave. 1 million Hebrew slaves were finally and definitively free from Pharaoh's suffocating Egyptian slavery.
