On October 21, 1970, Marshall Johnson started his career. That makes today his 50th anniversary with Walmart. 🎉🎆 He was smiling on that day five decades ago, and he’s still smiling today. 😁 We pulled out all the stops to celebrate him today. We had a whole host of DJ’s in the studio. We had Marshall’s store manager call in from Store 665 in Cambellsville, Kentucky. We were live in his market, so Marshall could join in the fun. He even took over our playlist, and we have to say that Marshall has some really good taste in music. If Whitney, Aretha, Tina, Michael and Lionel Ritchie don’t get you going, we can’t help you. Good stuff, Marshall! We had 70’s trivia and talked about dance trends in the 70’s. And, for the main event, we had the man himself live on the air. Marshall called in and shared some memories about his 50 years with the company, shared some advice for new associates and shared his amazingly positive energy with us all. If you’ve never listened to a Walmart Radio Podcast, this celebration of Marshall is a good a place to start. Congratulations on 50 years, Marshall!!! Here’s to many more! 🥂👏

We’re just glad you found your way to the studio today. 😊 Tyler from Walmart World shared an amazing Milestone Minute with Marshall, our 50-year Walmart associate. We celebrated him with a special edition of Walmart Radio today, so make sure to check out Marshall’s podcast! AMC movie theaters has got you covered. They shared plans to rent out whole theaters for $99, but that doesn’t mean you can have popcorn fights, Antonio and Iyube. They still have to clean up after you. Today’s Social Media Highlight of the Day goes out to Frontend Coach Edna and People Lead Elizabeth who have been #WalmartFriends for 21 years. They both started with the #StatesvilleWalmart at Store 1662 in North Carolina when they were just 18 years old. On InstaRewind, Mitsy from Store 756 in Summerville, Georgia, called in and actually sang us the right answer.
