Antonio had Peanut Butter Energy on his show this morning, so, not to be out done, Bo gave us the news on Peanuts: Charlie Brown and Snoopy turn 70 today. (Oh, brother.) Bo has some more birthday news, but it’s a secret, so you have to listen to hear what it is. Shhhhh! Don’t tell Antonio. Our Associate Caller of the Day was Angela at Store 462 in Alvin, Texas, and she had a shoutout for everyone in her store. Have you ever just stood there and watched the wet wall in Produce as it mists? Admit it. You have! Well, today’s your day, because it’s National Produce Misting Day. Yes, that’s apparently a thing, so take a moment to appreciate the spectacle (as Iyube called it) of the produce being misted in your store. And on Celebrity Chit Chat, Bo talks to Dua Lipa about the personal aspect of her music. We had Milestone Minute, Associate Shoutouts and the Top Five Signs You Really Need to Clean Out Your Refrigerator. All that definitely sounds like a No Format Friday. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do every day without our truck drivers. They keep our stores, Fulfillment Centers and Distribution Centers in stock, and have a pulse on the whole business. Sam Walton used to go and sit with drivers early in the morning for a couple of hours to listen and learn about what’s really going on, because they see it all. Steve Harper has a great story of how he became a Road Team member - from owning a flower shop to now training our drivers. Our Social Media Highlight of The Day goes to the team at Store 4529 in New Lenox, Illinois, as they show us a witchy way to do the Dougie. They can teach me how to Dougie, teach, teach me how to Dougie. On Did You Know? we learned that Beverly Hills was named after Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, which was named after Beverly in Yorkshire, England. And that town was named for a colony of beavers. We wonder if the Beverly Hillbillies ever thought about that while swimming the concrete pond. What in tarnation? The impossible was possible today! Brian, a customer from Evergreen, Colorado, called in and guessed Bo’s Impossible Question at the top of the show. Maybe Bo should change it to the Not-Quite-Impossible Question or maybe the Anything-is-Possible Question. We’ll consider all suggestions. In Milestone Minute, we had Heidi from Store 100 in Bentonville, Arkansas, celebrating 35 years; Carolyn at Store 14 in Lebanon, Missouri, celebrating 40 years; and Helen at Store 338 in Lamar, Missouri, celebrating an amazing 45 years with the company. Let’s hear it for all of our long-term associates! Robert Pattinson says he likes that he could mess up Batman, because it puts pressure on him to do well in the role. Sounds like he’s been on a store walk with the Market Manager. Amirite? Hey, have you ever adjusted your Fitbit for raking leaves? Iyube has Five (Funny) Things About October he wants to tell you, and you may want to listen, because they’re pretty hilarious. In Did You Know, we discovered that it's illegal to own a pet hamster in Hawaii. The climate is so good for the loveable rodents that if just a few escaped, they could start wild colonies and devastate the native crops. We thought is was just because they didn’t like those little wheels. Our Associate Caller of the Day was Matthew at Walmart Store 1030 in Lancaster, South Carolina, and he had a dedication for one of his co-workers to hold on for one more day! It’s national chewing gum day, so Antonio, Beth and Iyube got to jawing about their favorite gum flavors. Listen to hear which chewy treats have the gang flapping their gums. Our Associate Caller of the Day was Adrian from Walmart Store 1777 in Reading, Pennsylvania. He gave a shoutout to a couple of his teammates, and another one for the L.A. Lakers! He may have been talked into that last one. Today’s Say Word from down under has our guys ready to parrr-tay. You’ve got to listen if you want to hear what it is and how to pronounce it. Bo’s Australian accent is…well, you just have to hear it. 😂Phyllis at Store 1585 in North Platte, Nebraska, told her Associate Story to us, and it had everything: break-ins, 80’s rock music and a non-shedding onion. Our Associate Caller of the Day was Shannon who works with Paper, Pets and Chemicals at Store 684 in Lexington, Tennessee. She wanted a shoutout for her whole store! You got it, Shannon. Iyube gave us 10 fall activities you can still do in 2020, which gives Bo the opportunity to tell him how he can slingshot a whole pumpkin. But when it lands, will it still be squash?
