Exodus 3:1-14: Romans 8:37

Today, April 1, 2018, 2.3 billion Christians on this earth are celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. One out of three people living on earth professes faith in Jesus. Jesus never traveled more than 200 miles from his birth place. He never wrote a book, painted a picture, or wrote a song. We say 2016, 2017, 2018. Why? It has been that many years since His coming, His life, His death and His Resurrection.

When we think of Calvary, we usually think of the cross of Christ. We must remember there were three, and each cross has a message for us today.

Introduction: We are entering the most important days of the Christian calendar. We are two weeks from Easter and one week from Palm Sunday. This morning I want us to start thinking about these two weeks in Jesus’ life, and I want to highlight what we will be doing to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

March 25 – Palm Sunday, Lord’s Supper

March 30 – Good Friday, movie Risen

April 1 – Easter Sunday

Introduction: When have you been afraid? Has fear caused you to do some strange things? What are afraid of today? Would you like to conquer your fears? Timothy had a rich family tradition, great friends and wonderful support, but he was fearful. Paul spoke to Timothy concerning his fear.

Many present-day Christians are spiritually tired. They (we) feel that the world’s problems are so great that they (we) can have no realistic impact on the world’s situation. Many have settled into a mode of just existing.
