Many citizens are upset about the failure of politicians and regulators to stand up to corporate interests when it comes to protecting our health and the environment. It seems that we are powerless in the face of corporate power of the coal industry or the agrochemical industry. In whatever is left of our democracies, the choices we would like to make are not on the ballot. But there may be one "ballot" left to us: the dollar, the euro, the yen.
