飛蟲在霧氣中捲起弧形的鳴聲,像在檢查最後殘留的黑;
鳥兒試探性地測量日光的濃度;
The beasts of the forest are unlocking the day.
The Formosan barking deer howls through the valley,
and the insects begin to sound almost innocent.
At this moment, all creatures seem entranced,
murmuring softly, gazing at the lingering starlight.
Flying insects draw arcs of sound through the mist,
as if inspecting the final traces of darkness.
Birds cautiously measure the density of morning light.
The bamboo partridge unceremoniously pulls away
the last thread of warmth.
The Taiwan barbet, the mid-to-low voice of the bird chorus,
earnestly outlines the boundaries of the dance floor.
In the mist, we begin to spin—
until we align with the entrance to the soul.

Afterword:
This is the final chapter of the Overnight at Erziping trilogy.
That night, I spent the night alone in Erziping, quietly recording the transformation of sound from night to dawn.
Throughout the process, I followed all regulations of Yangmingshan National Park:
no tents, no cooking, no noise, no disturbance to local ecology, and no trace left behind.
Every sound was recorded in a state of deep respect for the rhythm of the forest and its beings.
This is the chapter I love the most.
As daylight unfolded, I sat in the heart of the mountain and experienced a rich theatre of sound.
May these recordings carry with them the quiet joy of simply being present.
