 Welcome to the Wandering Tangent Podcast! On this episode we talk about the 2007 action flick, “Live Free or Die Hard”! It’s a bit of a weird choice, but Gary does his best to explain why he wanted us to watch this movie with him.

Along the way Gary declares this to be the best of the Die Hard….sequels, shade is thrown at Marine Corps fighter pilots, we talk about people getting angry about movies being PG-13 instead of R and then not liking the R-rated sequel, and BJ and Jeff go toe to toe over Jeff trying to justify something with the movie...much to Gary’s chagrin.

 Welcome to the Wandering Tangent Podcast! On this episode we talk about the 1993 sci-fi thriller, “Jurassic Park”! This is as movie that is near and dear to us as it was the first movie we all saw together in a theater many moons ago.

So since we all love it so we go deep on the nitpicks. It’s just what we do with movies we like, apparently. 

 Along the way we compare the movie to the book, BJ complains that most of the quotes he could find from the book where Malcolm’s philosophical ramblings, BJ vainly attempts to stop the nitpicking before joining in, we briefly talk about the Jurassic World movies and whether or not Jeff knows they exist despite having seen one, and BJ goes slightly off the deep end due to fatigue.

 Welcome to the Wandering Tangent Podcast. On this episode we are going to talk about the 1938 radio broadcast by the Mercury Theater Company on the Air...”The War of the Worlds”, starting Orson Welles! While we talk about the broadcast, we also talk about the panic it caused...or may have caused because there seems to be some argument about that.

Along the way BJ continues to be salty about Jeff and Gary’s refusal to have a definitive rating system, we sure are glad that modern news media would “never” try to sensationalize the news for their own benefit, we talk about the differences between the various versions of War of the Worlds, we talk about super cannons vs rockets, BJ is shocked to find that Jeff has read way more of the works of H.G. Wells than Gary has, and BJ admits he would be a terrible end of the world buddy.

 Welcome to the Wandering Tangent Podcast! This time we are diving into a new medium: the written word! We are starting off with the classic horror short story “The Call of Cthulhu”, written by H.P. Lovecraft and published in 1928.

Yes, we realize that Lovecraft is a bit of a controversial figure, and we talk about that.

Along the way we also talk about the proper pronunciation of “Cthulhu”, the everlasting refinement of our rating system continues, Gary attempts to explain non-Euclidean geometry, we get a brief rant on modern art, BJ tries to soapbox about the overuse of the term “Lovecraftian” but kinda putters out, and Gary suggests changes to how we end the podcast.
