Megan Morrone and Jason Howell talk to Iain Thompson from The Register about the latest strain of ransomware. The new and especially virulent strain of ransomware is spreading across the globe crippling the National Health Service hospitals in the UK and telecom companies in Spain. They're calling it WannaCry, WannaCrypt, WanaCrypt0r, WCry, and other names. The ransomware exploits a vulnerability called Eternal Blue, which was revealed in the Shadow Brokers dump of the NSA hack. A patch was released back in May.
