Last night President Trump ordered a blockade of sanctioned oil vessels into and out of Venezuela.  A blockade is an act of war so interesting choice of words there but it does highlight how we've seen multiple explanations as to why military action in SOUTHCOM is set to continue.  Today we look into some of the most recent ones from oil to drugs, terrorism and stealing land.

US shifts focus to the Western Hemisphere

Today we're looking into the newly released National Security Strategy with Brett Rosenberg and Jon Finer. Brett is a nonresident scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and previously served on the National Security Council as director of strategic planning where she helped draft President Biden’s National Security Strategy.
Jon previously served as President Biden’s deputy national security advisor from 2021-2025 and prior to that worked as the director of policy planning at the State Department.

These are some the newest military innovations coming out of the Dubai Air Show

Today we're looking into some of the newest offerings from the EDGE Group on display at the 2025 Dubai Air Show. During the couple days at the event we spent time on the flight line (video coming), with the Ukrainian SkyFall company https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsy5xzdKahU and then walking through the exhibit hall. Inside, the EDGE Group had the most offerings I felt you all would be most interested in and it wasn't close. Their overall footprint here was huge with a lot of really interesting new technologies from cruise missiles, to extended range munitions, drone interceptors and a wide variety of unmanned vehicles.

Putin said it was taken, Ukrainian Soldiers proved him wrong

Today we're looking into the reports that Ukraine has retaken much Kupyansk after Putin claimed it had fallen to Russian forces weeks ago. Zelensky today visited the troops near the front and DeepState is reporting that only pockets of Russians remain and that operations are ongoing. On the Russian side, they're calling this a city taken on 'credit' and looking for someone to blame for misleading Putin about the status at the front.
