In the House of Commons, on the 12th of November 1940, Winston Churchill rose to deliver a speech; more, he was about to deliver his eulogy for Neville Chamberlain who had just died. If you are at all acquainted with the political history of the late 1930s, you will well understand that Churchill, having dramatically replaced Chamberlain as Prime Minister only six months before, and doing so in highly-charged circumstances, had a mammoth job on his hands, having to deal with Chamberlain‟s record before the outbreak of war in 1939. With consummate skill, Churchill navigated the rapids.
