After a year-long hiatus, Warning Track is back on the Impact airwaves! Kyle Turk's your new host, and along with Impact baseball beat writers Tino Abarca and Noah Goad, the trio takes a look at Michigan State baseball's 2-5 start to 2018. After missing the Big Ten tournament last year, the goal for this year's young Spartan team is still a first NCAA tournament bid since 2012. Kyle asks if seven games' worth of data is even worth discussing, and Noah reveals the reason he was sent to the disabled list last week. They also preview a massive upcoming weekend in Minneapolis and a tournament in South Carolina during spring break, and discuss their plans for the time off.

Zach tries to prevent bringing up repressed memories of the Big Ten Tournament finish by keeping it short and sweet while analyzing the final Spartan games. He then commemorates the great season MSU had and explains why there is no reason to see 2016 as a failure. Lastly, keep listening as there is something that may come back to haunt Zach one day.

Warning Track host Zach Barnes told you MSU baseball could win! The Spartans did everything Zach said they needed to do to beat Nebraska in the first round of the Big Ten tournament. Zach discusses what needs to be done in Thursday’s matchup against Maryland. Check out the plethora of post game quotes Zach shares to really dive into the thoughts of Dan Durkin and Jake Boss Jr. during the slump and what they felt needed to be done in order to be successful in the postseason.

Things are not looking good for the Spartans as they lose yet another series to a Big Ten opponent dropping them to sixth in the Big Ten standings. The bats have failed to get going with guys on base in both the Nebraska and Iowa series’ and it is a mystery as to why the offense isn’t as explosive as it has been for a large part of the season, but Zach tries to figure out why. Cam Vieaux continues to struggle, and even though Zach was hopeful he would figure it out, it doesn’t seem to be looking that way. Although the team is struggling there is still a “Baller Alert” in this episode, so tune out to find out who or what it is. Zach takes a look at the final Big Ten series of the season against Maryland and how the Terrapin pitching staff could cause a lot of trouble for the boys in green. For a team that got off to a record start, these final games are going to be nail biters.

The Nebraska series highlighted the lows in MSU baseball. Losing these key games against the top Big Ten opponents is not a good sign for the Spartans with the season wrapping up. Zach, alone again :(, points out what needs to change if this team is to be successful going forward. With a big clump of teams at the top of the Big Ten standings, any team can come out as Big Ten champions. Zach states how key this Iowa series this weekend will be for MSU’s shot at the title.
