Coming to terms with our flawed parents ultimately brings us to a place of peace and comfort. What does it mean to forgive our parents and how can we choose happiness versus hold onto the anger from the past?
There is only love, no shame, in having a child. Regardless of whether they became part of your family by IVF, adoption, surrogacy or rape, children deserve honest age-appropriate answers about how they were conceived. This is needed for their mental health, physical health and overall feeling of safety, security and love. Lies by omission can negatively affect the parent-child relationship. Lies hurt the child's ability to trut and can lead to depression, shame and anxiety. Join us as we discuss this very important issue.
The Depp v Heard trial begs many questions to include: Will there be a chilling effect on turning to the legal system for assistance? Will #MeToo be affected? Can we use this case as a teachable moment? Join us in our lively discussion on Warrior Women Speak.

Have you seen or experienced a horrifying event, been a victim of a crime, or suffered a significant loss? Does your adrenaline kick in when you take a test, or sense danger, or maybe at times when you are uncertain? Trauma can affect you in the moment but it also has effects long after the triggering incident. Our bodies react in different ways when we sense danger or have to work through our fears. During these uncertain moments our brain goes into ‘protective mode’ that can trigger "fight, flight, freeze, or fawn" or a hybrid of those responses which often affects our mental and physical health and can disrupt the quality of our lives for many years. Join our discussion of how to recognize "fight, flight, freeze, fawn" trauma responses and some of the reasons for them. Understanding both the triggers and the trauma and how to process and navigate them is instrumental in moving forward, breaking the patterns that bind us to the past, and living a joyful fulfilled life.
Join us in part two of our conversation with Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD whose latest book: The Girl in the Red Boots is our special Mother's Day guest. Judith's continues telling her story and we discuss various ways to cope and connect with our mothers and a past we cannot change. Judith lives by example demonstrating that we can move forward positively by understanding, having faith, and believing in ourselves. Judith's story teaches us that we are stronger and better because of where we came from. It is important to understand that reconciling the relationships we have with our mothers is the key to having a productive life that evolves positively leaving the pain and confusion we felt in the past where it belongs. The journey can be haunting or uplifting, it can change you in ways you've never thought possible. The Girl in the Red Boots is a compassionate retelling of Judith's journey and is intertwined with many other reflective stories. Judith's raw honesty and humor brings to the forefront the need for exploration, understanding and healing.

Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD whose latest book: The Girl in the Red Boots is our special Mother's Day guest. Join us in this two part series where we discuss and share our various journeys with our mothers. Judith's story with her own mother couldn't be told for years after her mother passed but through her writing she healed and was finally ready to share her story to help others. Reconciling the relationships we have with our mothers allows us to release anger and gain compassion and insight for ourselves and our mothers. The views we have as children morph and evolve while we grow into adults, raise our own children and watch our parents decline. The journey can be haunting or uplifting, it can change you in ways you've never thought possible. The Girl in the Red Boots describes such a journey and talking with Judith brings to the forefront the need for exploration, understanding and healing.
