Like most of the world, we’re addicted to true crime—but this week, we’re taking a deep dive into the cases that haunted our childhoods, shaped our fears, and sparked our morbid curiosity. From the notorious crimes that gripped Ireland, the UK, and beyond, to our own brushes with crime (yes, actual arrests were involved), we’re revisiting the dark, the bizarre, and the downright unbelievable.

Kelly shares the time she drank in a Ballyfermot pub with one of the biggest crime families in Ireland, while Amil opens up about her own experience with stalking—because, as women, we’re uncomfortably familiar with the reality of crime. We also look at the crimes that shook the nation, from the murder of Veronica Guerin to the disappearance of Kyran Durnin. We remember the cases that dominated the headlines—Madeleine McCann, The Soham murders, The Watts family killings, and the big-name serial killers who became legends in their own right.

It’s nostalgic, chilling, and weirdly fun as we swap childhood memories of scary stories, news reports, and the crimes that made us triple-check our locks.
