LifeSource wonder workers, Roxanne Magnuson (L) and Paige Smith, joined Waste Matters on the Air to discuss LifeSource's on-going efforts to be as environmentally sustainable as it can be.

Elise Bauman, executive director of Salem Harvest, filled us in on the what's, why's, and how Salem Harvest fills the unusual niche of harvesting food that would ordinarily go to waste and help get it into the homes of the locally hungry. If you've ever had a hankerin' to pick and grin (food) for the needy you need to hear this.

Elizabeth Fournier, AKA The Green Reaper, joined Waste Matters to help us dive into the realms of "green burials."  Ms Fournier, author of The Green Burial Guidebook, filled us in on the what, why, and where of having an affordable, environmentally friendly burial.   This one is a must hear!

Ever wonder how it came to pass that a waste-to-energy facility located in Marion County back in the 1980's?  Former County Commissioner Randy Franke joined Waste Matters on the Air to discuss just that and the role he played in landing it. Previously recorded back in 2015, this amazing  interview merits a second "screening."

If you've ever contemplated why some wines are just better, you need to hear this.  Mimi Casteels of Hopewell Vinyards is a cutting edge practitioner of sustainable methods to produce high value grapes while improving soils and biotic diversity of local flora and fauna. Mimi explains how she does that through a total commitment to sustainability both on the farm and with the people she works with.
