Since we are gluttons for punishment and want to fight with Stephanie again, we dipped back into the Celine Song well to cover Materialists in this episode of Watch This! Will Stephanie like Ms. Song's second film better than her first (Past Lives, covered in our last episode)? Find out for yourselves! Okay, I'll give you a hint...no. At least Alex and Paul are here to possibly defend the film. Did they like it as much as Past Lives? I'll give you a hint...no. But they did like it! Why? Stop reading and just listen to the episode, will ya?

And yet another contentious episode of Watch This! comes your way. This week the crew takes on Celine Song's wonderful debut, Past Lives. Well, Alex and Paul found it wonderful, Stephanie and special guest, Jessica, not so much. What is the ladies' major malfunction? Maybe Celine Song wronged them in a past life or something. Shame this episode didn't come out on the Fourth of July 'cause there be some major fireworks here! 

This week, Paul, Stephanie and Alex pull back the curtain on David Lynch's 1986 film, Blue Velvet. Joined by two special guests, German and Shinji, the crew uncover the many mysteries of the weird and nightmarish town of Lumberton. Things get Lynchian real quick, so make sure to keep an ear to the ground and hear all about it. Pun intended. 

Prepare yourselves! This is a contentious episode! I mean, it would be. We're talking Eddington after all, and nothing is as divisive as the Ari Aster directed black comedy/western/ take down of the pandemic era. Well, maybe Coke vs. Pepsi. That or whether or not you should put hard boiled eggs in your cereal. Just kidding. Nobody does that. Except I know someone who does and it's gross. Where was I? Right. Eddington. Join the Watch This! crew as they dissect the film and try to prove to one another that the movie is a masterpiece/suckfest. Who will win? Who knows. But seriously don't put hard boiled eggs in your cereal. 

The Watch This! crew gathers to watch The NeverEnding Story this time around. This was Paul's pick, who hasn't seen it since he was a wee lad and yet still, somehow, has a ton of baggage when it comes the Wolfgang Petersen adaptation of of the epic fantasy novel by Michael Ende. Will Alex and Stephanie give the movie a pass or will they wish it would friggin' end already? Tune in and find out...oh, and keep an ear out for Paul's long lost German cousin who might make an appearance or two.
