"You see that crap? All that horror crap? Things coming out of crates and eating people? Dead people coming back to life? People turning into weeds, for Christ's sake?"

Welcome to the 25th episode of Watch WHAT, now?, the podcast that talks about the good, the bad, and everything in between. It’s also been Melissa’s journey as a horror newbie into that genre. It must have been fate at the end of our last episode when Melissa chose “cockroaches” over “spiders” because we needed a big name for episode 25 and with her choice, we got two.

Stephen King and George A. Romero joined forces to bring Creepshow out into the world.Inspired by the EC horror comics of the 1950s, King and Romero wanted to bring both the scary and cheesy elements of the source material, yet keep that comic book look and feel. And that they did. From zombies wanting revenge and “meteor shit” covering all things with vegetation to monsters in crates and roach infestations.

This anthology is considered to be one of the most entertaining creations from both artists and we’re going to discuss if we think that is a valid claim. We’ll also discuss other subjects as well: How is Leslie Nielsen as a villain compared to his well known lovable idiot characters? Does the comic book look distract from the stories? Is Stephen King the perfect bumpkin? And most importantly, will Wilma cause Fluffy to get indigestion?

So slice yourself a piece of cake and help us celebrate 25 episodes. Make sure to have a bottle of bug spray handy as well. You never know when you’ll need it. Just no voodoo dolls, please. They're a pain in the neck.

"But one thing's for sure. Inspector Clay is dead, murdered, and somebody is responsible."

How do we follow up Ep. 23 where we nearly gave Evil Dead 2 a perfect combined score? By discussing a movie from someone known as "The worst director of all time," and that director was known as Ed Wood. With a budget of only $60,000 and some use of military stock footage, this "worst movie ever" has grown in popularity after decades of midnight matinee showings as well as often being the subject of local low budget horror and sci-fi shows.

There's so much to unpack with this one and it's notoriety. It's known as Bela Lugosi's last movie, even though his footage was from a previously unfinished Ed Wood film. Vampira hated her character's dialogue so much that she refused to say anything. There's boom mic shadows, visible scripts, and shaky flying saucers, but at least it has a very relevant message.

So join us as we step through the constantly reused curtains and try to answer some questions: Is this truly one of the worst films ever? Are the resurrected dead zombies, ghouls, or vampires? Does its hour and fifteen minute run time feel like days? Was Melissa wrong when she said this sounded like fun? We'll find out in Ep. 24 just how "Stupid...stupid" this movie really is. God help us in the future.

"For God's sake! How do you stop it????"

Bruce Campbell can win an Academy Award for playing Sir Isaac Newton, but he'll forever be known as the hero Ash from the Evil Dead franchise. And as successful as the original Evil Dead film was, fans tend to flock more towards its sequel due to its mixture of horror and comedy, as well as its over the top use of blood splatter. Sounds perfect for a horror newbie like Melissa, right?

Join us as we enter that abandoned cabin in the woods and deal with Ash and the horrors of the forest. From disembodied hands and laughing deer heads to evil trees and mystical daggers, this one has it all and Melissa is diving headfirst into the fruit cellar with Henrietta to find out.

It's time to grab a shotgun, gas up the chainsaw, and find those final pages of the Necronomicon, because it's Ep 23 of Watch WHAT, now? and we're planning on carving ourselves a witch. Or be dead by dawn. One of the two. Groovy.

"Man, this guy is so burned, he's cooked! A fucking Big Mac, overdone! You know what I mean?"

In the 1980s, slasher movies were booming and at times, summer camp was the place to be concerning them. In 1980, Camp Crystal Lake suffered a tragedy when Mrs. Voorhees slayed 7 people in the name of her son Jason. Yet one year later, Camp Blackfoot had its own tragedy when the groundskeeper known as Cropsy was burned in a prank gone wrong. The tragedy got even worse when Cropsy decided to take vengeance upon a group of campers from nearby Camp Stonewater.

The Burning has a huge following and with Melissa still a newbie to horror films, this one was pretty much a requirement. With Tom Savini behind the gore effects, it's a no-brainer that it'll be a bloody one for her, but does that make it a good film? We'll get into that and see if the movie is truly worth the hype.

Join us as we get in our canoe and paddle through the ups and downs of dealing with Cropsy and his gardening shears. Plus we'll answer the ultimate burning question: Does Melissa regret choosing this film just because it starred Jason Alexander?

"Tina, it was wrong of you to lock me up. I had to hurt myself to get out. But I forgive you darlin' and I know you're here, because I can smell your brains."

Let's start with some questions: What if The Night of the Living Dead really happened? And what if some of those reanimated bodies were contained and accidentally sent to a medical supply company? And what if two bumbling employees caused one of the corpses to come back to life and in turn cause all the dead bodies in the nearby cemetery to dig themselves up? Well, you'd have 1985's The Return of the Living Dead.

Like a lot of the films discussed here, this was a first time watch for Melissa and while we've had some great conversations lately...the content we've discussed hasn't been that great of a watch for her. Fingers crossed that this movie will end somewhat of a losing streak concerning Melissa's recent watches. But hey, when two of your main characters trying to stop the zombies are named Burt and Ernie, the odds have to be in our favor.

Well, you guys asked for it. With 59 percent of the votes, Road House beat out Them! as the subject for Episode 20. Road House, the movie that is now known as a Family Guy joke. Road House, the movie that the Official Razzie Movie Guide called "One of the 100 most enjoyably bad movies ever made." Road House, the movie that Melissa suggested because she knew someone that walked out of the theater after 10 minutes.

Patrick Swayze plays Dalton, the toughest and most peaceful Cooler around, is hired to clean up the violent roadside bar known as The Double Deuce by getting rid of the local troublemakers. Join us as we discuss all the clichés: the sensitive tough guy, his older mentor, the sexy blonde love interest, the over the top villains, unnecessary explosions, and more.

Grab a beer, have your medical records on hand, and avoid any and all stuffed polar bears because we have a lot to say in Episode 20. Don't worry, though. We'll be nice, until it's time to not be nice.

"See? It's making me whole again. Every drop of blood you spill, the more flesh you put on my bones. And we both want that, don't we?"

For a horror newbie, Melissa might have finally gotten in over her head by choosing what to discuss for this episode. Demons from another dimension torture people in the most gruesome ways, simply for the person's pleasure. Frank Cotton escaped the Cenobites and needs his ex-lover Julia to bring him victims so he can regain the flesh on his body, all while trying to avoid Pinhead and his demonic minions.

Did Melissa make a mistake by opening the box and bringing Hellraiser to Watch WHAT, now? Will she be able to handle the over the top gore? Will Eric have to discuss this movie solo because there might be a chance Melissa won't be able to finish watching the movie? Anything is possible. "Get ready to take your medicine, Moorehigh. The doctor is in."

After all this time, it finally happened. We watched a movie that totally broke us. Who knew that it would be Dr. Giggles? Join us as we completely lose it discussing a movie about an escaped mental patient that returns home so he may finish his father's work...and by that we mean killing people and removing their hearts so he can successfully perform a transplant on a "patient."

From killing people with thermometers and gigantic band-aids to delivering puns every single time you see him on screen, Dr. Giggles does it all. We'll let you decide if that's a good thing.

"I wanna hold your hand..."

Rock music and horror movies are often at times a great mixture. SPOILERS: That is not the case with the subject of this episode of the podcast. You may ask yourself after reading that, "How bad could it be?" Well, both of us turned the film off during our initial watches less than 15 minutes in.

Oh, boy. Where do we start because this movie has everything and not in a good way. Shitty looking zombies. Bad rock music. Stupid townsfolk. Evil dwarves. A werewolf grandma. And if that wasn't dumb enough, Adolf and his evil group attempt to make a comeback.The things we sit and watch for your entertainment.

Well, hopefully you're entertained with our reviews because this film (and that is being said VERY loosely), has zero entertainment value.Wish us luck as we contemplate ever considering an idea from Shelley again. Sigh... It's Episode 17 of "Watch WHAT, now?" and we're discussing Hard Rock Zombies, I guess.

"Honey! C'mon over here, Sugar-buns. This machine just called me an asshole!"

There's a certain stigma attached to the majority of Stephen King horror movies: they're all terrible. Some are so bad that they're good and some are unwatchable. The subject of this episode has a reputation for both and we'll decide which opinion is more justified.

Take one Brat Packer, add Lisa Simpson, mix in a handful of other "interesting" characters, and then dump them at a truck stop that is under attack by a bunch of automobiles and other machines come to life and you'll end up with Maximum Overdrive.

Based on his own short story "Trucks," Stephen King decided to go from the writer's room to the director's chair. He also (be it good or bad) brought his alcoholism and cocaine addiction along with him. The man was so drunk and coked out of his mind that he doesn't remember much of the experience and hasn't directed a movie since. Sounds perfect for this podcast, doesn't it?
