  • Vermax Gets Artax'd | [S3E1-2] House of the Dragon

We're back after a week off and we recorded two episodes at once, because if HBO can make us wait two years, we can make you wait for a double. This week Tim and Mike break down House of the Dragon Season 3, Episodes 1 and 2 ("Salt and Sea, Fire and Blood" and "Queen's Landing"), aka the two hours that should have been last season's finale.

  • Green Apple Bobbing | S1E6 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Baelor's dead, Egg's a liar, and there are apparently nine kingdoms.

Tim and Mike close out Season 1 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms with "The Morrow" finale recap. Dunk decides whether to take Egg as his squire, Lyonel Baratheon delivers the angriest speech of the season, and a small prince makes a very concerning visit to his brother's room with a knife.

This episode: Lyonel's "he risked nothing" speech · Is Dunk actually a knight? · Egg and the knife · Raymun's glow-up · Season 2 news · The final cunt count

  • [S2E7] “Convergence” Recap and Review

In this episode of Watchers on the Couch, Tim and Mike delve into the season finale of The Last of Us Season 2, titled 'Convergence.' What was the point of the Scar Island scene? Where are they getting fuel for these boats 20 years post outbreak? Why are we supposed to care about a Season 3? The automatic show note generator wants us to tell you the following:

The hosts express their disappointment with the pacing and execution of key scenes, particularly the confrontations and the cliffhanger ending. They reflect on the lack of viewer engagement and the challenges that future seasons may face in maintaining interest. The conversation highlights the ethical implications of violence portrayed in the series and the need for deeper character arcs to resonate with the audience.

That last sentence is as bullshit. No one would accuse us of highlighting ethical implications of violence. I don't the word "ethical" has appeared in this podcast in the 10 years we've been doing it.
