God's greatness can be compared to a grammar lesson:

- He is a noun: The Holy One of Israel

- He is a ?be? verb: I AM

- He is an action verb: He created, formed, redeemed and summoned

- He is an adjective: gracious, compassionate, righteous

All these traits point us to the majesty of a Holy God who loves us. So the question is: How do we respond?

It is easy to become comfortable in our "Christianeze", but we must learn to NEVER let down our guard and fight to the finish!

Armageddon? The Millennial Reign? God has a sovereign plan that we can trust.

Isaiah paints God's picture of how future judgement demonstrates His justice mercy and restoration regarding the people of Israel.

In this passage, we see nation after nation judged for their failure to heed God's warnings and for opposition and rebellion against God. We encounter one of the great themes in both the book of Isaiah and the Bible: resistance and rebellion against God result in judgment. But within the prophecies and warnings are rays of hope. God is willing to save those who will repent and turn to Him. Throughout these prophecies, the Lord consistently offers the promise of salvation to all who truly turn to Him, repent of their sins, and live righteously.

God always provides His chosen people a way of escape from the bondage of sin. Listen to this story of hope from the perspective of Isaiah's wife.

Jesus turned things in His Jewish world upside down. We are challened to do the same in our world, whether dealing with doubt or detraction.

Being a prophet in any day and age is tough. Some would even say it's a dirty job (but somebody's got to do it). As we look ahead to our spring study, we learn from the prophet Isaiah how to roll up our sleeves and get "dirty" - all for God's glory and our good.

The end is coming - both here in Daniel and for us all. Yet that in no way means we should lose heart. Instead, we learn today that the best is yet to come!
