When we pray together, W.E. become more willing.

Willing to…

To persevere.

To join a wild faithful.

To be a needed encourager.

To disciple someone into the fold.

To bring relief to the hurting & our hurting kin. (Acts 11:19-30).

Pray as you listen to our Sunday gathering rooted in praying the Word of God.

Henri Nouwen defines Hospitality as "the creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place."

For the Christ Follower, offering God's hospitality doesn’t mean we are always quiet and never share our beliefs. Quite the opposite (yet without offense), hospitality requires an unrestricted welcome as well as divine expectancy as we welcome others: "What’s God doing in this person’s life?"

Couple these with a genuine vulnerability, a Christ-loving person of peace can actually be a bit more direct: "This what I see Jesus up to right now.... Now, please pass the bread."

Many times, proclaiming the Kingdom of God is... “Come with us as W.E. serve ________ together.”

Meaning, when we serve “in the name of Jesus”, it is a witness to those we are serving and those who serve with us.

That is… “Sharing our Story” in a way that Speaks to our Shared Longings.

"People of peace" (P.O.P.) see others and are a safe, non anxious presence. Instead of just having friends, P.O.P. long to make more and more family in the Kingdom of God. The call for being a person of peace is to see other's plights and to redemptively reframe them through the lens of Jesus' kingdom.

And if we are able to learn this evangelistic calling, it's ok if we seem a little weird. The world is longing for safe, loving weird people.

The people of God are called to celebrate.

When we celebrate, we remember.

When we remember, we are expectant.

When we are expectant, we are present.

One of the greatest and unstated issues in the west is the quick dismissal of the beauty and understanding of our elders. The young often choose the foolishness of the media and so easily (and sadly) miss the wisdom of our elders.

In the same way we miss the beauty and wisdom of our elders today, we miss the beauty and wisdom of the two elders in the Christmas Story. Way before the Magi visited, Simeon and Anna had a prophetic word for the parents of Jesus.

W.E. have had another notice-ing recently… The world around us is receptive to Christmas carols and the unique Gospel message within...

This might the most post-religious, unchurched time EVER in the west. Yet, people are listening and even singing about Jesus (not just about the Grinch, or White Christmas or Grandma getting run over by Donner and Blitzen).

These songs are in our airports, Uber cars, shopping centers and even Trader Joes!!!

Why is this?

Joy invites sorrow to the table because joy by her very nature joy is welcoming, honest and comforting. Thus, Pain and loss though very real never has the last word. As Christmas celebrates, God is with us in the highs and lows… thus we praise in the highs and lows.

How are we praising God in 2024?

One of the goals of parenting is that each of your children feel like they are you favorite. In the mystery, this is the life with God. He calls each of us the Beloved.
