Today's 2023 Xbox Showcase and Starfield Direct double-feature was an absolute winner, in my book. Today on Wavelengths is all about the stuff I got most jazzed about, which honestly ended up being most of it? Starfield in particular really won me over, not that I ~needed~ much winning over, but still. It owned.

This week on Wavelengths I’m covering all of the biggest game and hardware announcements from The Playstation Showcase 2023! The reception to the event seems mixed — a lot of which has to do with lofty expectations fueled by the rumor mill and leaks — but when you take a step back the event was honestly pretty solid overall. We saw a bunch of new games from recent Playstation Studios acquisitions like Fairgames from Haven Studios and Concord from Firewalk Studios, along with a huge list of third-party titles to get stoked about.

Tom Henderson is reporting that Sony is working on a new PlayStation handheld device that will ~not~ be used for cloud gaming or native games, but is instead only to be used for Remote Play via the PlayStation 5. On today's episode of Wavelengths we're talking about how strange that is.
