We are drawn to beauty. When we experience true beauty nothing else around that beauty seems worthy of our attention. When we see the gracious heart of our Gentle and Lowly Savior, it should be so beautiful to us that everything else seems to fade. Join us in Matthew 10:37-39 as we see what it looks like to be drawn into the beauty of the heart of Christ.

What does perfect compassion look like? As we spend time in Hebrews 4:14-16, we continue on the journey to see the “Gentle and Lowly” heart of Jesus in His compassion toward mankind.

Last week we spent time looking at the gentle and lowly heart of Jesus and what that means about Him. This week, we stay in Matthew 11:25-30 and see why it matters that Jesus is gentle and lowly.

As we read through Dane Ortlund’s “Gentle & Lowly” as a church family, we will be walking through Scripture that points to this nature of Jesus that is bold in Spirit and gentle in love. This week we kick off this study in the core text of “Gentle & Lowly” in Matthew 11:28-29.

What does it mean to be who God has called you to be? As we look at the life of Deborah in Judges 4:4-9 we see how God calls us and equips us in all areas of our lives to be exactly who He has made us to be.

It’s easy in this world to want to be well-known. We’re encouraged to be well-known! But surely there’s something better than being known by many, known well by none. Paul reminds us in Galatians 1:6-12 that God desires to know us well, but for us to fully embrace His pursuit of us, we must give up this dream of being well-known and instead rest in the truth that we are known well by God.

We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter! Such joy for those that choose to follow Him! What about those that think they have been forgotten, that feel they’ve been too far gone, that have no hope. We look at Luke 15:1-7 to see why Jesus died in the first place: Not just for the many, but for the one that was lost, so that they could be found.

What does it look like to please God? How can you, “Enter the joy of your Master”? He has given all believers an opportunity to steward well two gifts He has given us. We can either do well with the gifts given, or we can squander them. Matthew 25:14-29 gives us insight into what these gifts are and how we can do well and be faithful servants.
